Introduction to Programming with R; Fall 2018

R is a freely available statistical computing package.  This hands-on workshop will cover the basics of R, plotting and performing bioinformatics analysis with R.  Knowledge of basic statistics is required.
 
Prerequisites:
 
  • Students are expected to have some basic knowledge of statistics, including concepts like random variables and probability distributions, means and standard deviations, sampling, and be familiar with popular exploratory data analysis plots, like histograms, bar plots and scatter plots. 
  • Participants are asked to bring a laptop* with the following software installed:

Part 4: Friday, October 19th 2018, 12:30pm - 2:30pm
 
  • Registration will be open from 10:00AM on Monday, September 17th to 4:30PM on Friday, September 21st.
  • Please do not register if you are not able to attend all four sessions.
  • Participants will be selected at random after registration has closed, at which time you will be notified of your enrollment status. If you registered for this course previously but were not selected, your chance of being selected - while not guaranteed - will be greater. In order to be identified as a past registrant, you must register with the same email address that you used to register previously. If this is not possible, email registration@trii.org.
  • There is a $100 fee for this workshop that will be collected by your institution. The fee is waived for students.
  • The location will be announced to accepted participants prior to the workshop.
  • Please register using an email address that can receive emails from outside your institution.
